The Book Club

mid-week refresher.

Long before mail was delivered by horse, bike messengers, international couriers, or email, letters were written by hand and delivered in person; Philemon, Titus, Timothy, and the like. Common practice was for members of house churches to gather, share a fellowship meal, and hear the reading of the arriving document, for their spiritual growth and edification.

The Manhattan SDA looks to foster a similar environment every Wednesday. Members and visitors gather at 7pm for one hour to pray together, share progress, and study—in depth—a predetermined letter, or epistle, of the Book.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
